This fall, MacEwan University is offering free Hatha Flow Yoga sessions for students after campus polling showed strong demand.

“We did some polling over the spring, summer, and the winter terms, we found that yoga is one of the things students wanted to see us offer,” said Terra Giggey, fitness supervisor at MacEwan University.

It’s the first time the university is running a structured yoga series for students in co-operation with Wellness Animals Giving Support (WAGS), the event takes place at MacEwan’s Sport and Wellness fitness studio.

“As for WAGS, they would just pop into one of our studios and bring some dogs,” said Giggey.

“This year they reached out to our programmer and worked on bringing them in consistently a few times this term,” she said.

Four sessions are scheduled throughout the fall 2026 term with the next class taking place on Oct. 20.

Giggey said classes sell out quickly.

Students interested in registering for Hatha Flow, can sign up at sport and wellness.
